“The first and greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart, mind, and soul; to love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37-40

This commandment is for everyone, regardless of religion or faith. Love is for everyone! When you love yourself, you can love others. Love changes the way you perceive the world —and how you see yourself.

It’s been said, “Negativity is the kiss of death.” Negative influences can make life unbearably painful and stifle your growth. This is also true for those who immerse their heads in negative self-talk or beliefs that limit their view of life. Life for them can seem hopeless. That’s a perception. There’s always another way. The question is, are you ready to open that door to experience life in a new way? It’s easy to say you want change, but fear and ignorance can keep you stuck where you are. Whatever you decide, just know it’s your decision. No one is living your life but you! Many of us are too afraid to learn something new, preferring the familiar, even if it’s dead-end and hurts. It’s hard to grow past authority figures or concepts you’ve known all your life. Logically, too, change can seem impossible, if not scary. It’s not scary, it’s just unkown!

Desiring a better way of living is a bold step. It starts with deciding to express more of the talents and skills that are within you. It takes trust and believing in yourself. That can be hard if you’ve never done that before. It sounds crazy, but many of us never fully know ourselves. That’s hard to believe when you live with yourself everyday!
